Ready to join the beach babe brow gang and have your brows looking fab every day of the week?

Make sure you have a read through this page first!

What is the feather touch technique?

This method of cosmetic tattooing is the most natural looking form of semipermanent eyebrow enhancements. Fine ‘hair like’ strokes are placed into the skin behind existing brow hair to create density, definition, and fill any gaps to create the perfect brow. The pigments that are used can be metabolized by the body, this in addition to the shallow depth of the strokes are what cause feather touch brows to be semipermanent.

How much does it cost?

A new microblading appointment is $675.00. This includes a complimentary adjustment appointment which must be used within 5-12 weeks of your initial appointment. We can use the adjustment appointment to make any changes such as going darker, more bold, correcting any healing issues etc.

Pricing for annual refresh appointments can be found under the 'book now' tab of our website.

How can I book?

All of our availability and pricing is listed under the 'book now' tab of our website.

How long does cosmetic tattooing last?

Cosmetic tattooing results vary greatly for each individual depending on a number of factors including skin types and lifestyle factors. As a general guide you can expect feather touch brows to last up to 1-3 years. However, to maintain the brows looking fresh and depending on how well your skin retains the pigment, a refresh is recommended each year.

For individuals with oily or troublesome skin types and those who bleed excessively during the procedure, a refresh may be required every 6 months. Additional life style factors can speed up the fading process such as: chemical peels, spending excessive amounts of time in the sun and facial products with acids that come in contact with the tattooed area etc.

Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each person’s skin type retains pigment and metabolises at different rates. It is important to attend your complimentary perfection visit so that we can learn how your skin retains the pigment and make any changes necessary. In some cases, additional perfection visits may be required to be booked. See pricelist for rates.

Will you perform a procedure over the top old brow tattoos done elsewhere?

Typically no. If your brows have faded please send a clear image of your current brows before booking your appointment and we will perform an assessment. You may be required to remove the old tattoo. Any procedure on brows tattooed by another tech will be charged at full price.

How long does it take to heal?

Your brows will take 5-6 weeks to heal. The complimentary perfection visit or any touch ups will not be booked before this time.

When can I swim in the ocean again?

You absolutely cannot swim in the ocean for a minimum of 2 weeks. Swimming before this time will affect your healed results drastically and increase your risk of infection.

Is it painful?

Pain threshold levels differ amongst individuals. Some clients may experience slight discomfort. Most of our clients describe the feeling as a scratching stinging sensation. You are welcome to bring your own numbing cream if you wish. Many are available over the counter however it is recommended to have one made at a compounding pharmacy as they work much better.

How will my cosmetic tattoo look in the future and how can I take care of it long term?

At your initial appointment a thorough skin analysis will be undertaken to ensure the appropriate pigment colour is selected. We will then reassess how your skin has retained the pigment and responded to the tattooing at your complimentary perfection visit 5-6 weeks later. In some cases eg. oily, troublesome skin types, frequent smokers, and those who bleed excessively, it may be required to use both feather stroke and shading methods to achieve  a desirable blend of tattoo to natural hair and increase the pigment retention into the future. Looking after your brows will ensure you achieve the greatest retention possible for your skin type. This includes wearing sunscreen on the brows and keeping chemical peels, laser treatments and acidic skin care products away from the area. You must advise your technician to take care around the area.

Will cosmetic tattooing work well for me?

Feather touch brows do not work well if you have oily, congested skin. You can expect the strokes to heal blurry and sometimes look more like a powdered effect. If you have extremely troublesome skin it may be recommended to try powder brows rather than feather touch. Powder brows appear as though you have coloured your brows in with a brow pencil. This is often the case with skin types who bleed excessively, too. It is also possible that you may not retain some of the strokes. These skin types usually metabolise the pigments faster, causing them to fade quicker than someone with dry skin.

If you have little to no hair, over plucked areas, scarring or patches missing, it can be difficult to achieve a natural looking brow with feather stroke alone. In this instance we would recommend shading between the strokes to achieve a better blend. This is available at an additional cost and a longer appointment time.

Should I shape or tint my brows before my appointment?

If you absolutely love the way your tech shapes your brows and you are just hoping to fill in some gaps, feel free to have them shaped. However, if you wish to change the shape a little, or don’t know what you want to do and would like our expert advice, leave them to grow. The more hair we have to work with, the better. If you intend to continue tinting your brows once your cosmetic tattoo has healed, you can tint your brows up to 2 days before your appointment, otherwise do not get them tinted.

Can I wear makeup around the fresh brows?

The skin should be kept completely clean for 10 days. A fresh tattoo is an open wound and to ensure you do not get the area infected you must keep the brow makeup free for up to 10 days after the appointment.

What can I expect in the days following my appointment?

As each skin type varies significantly, as does the healing process, however as a guide the following may occur:

Days 1-3 the brows may appear darker and more intense and may be a little bit unusual for what you are used to seeing. In some cases there may be small amounts of redness and swelling but this is not very common.

Days 3-10 you may experience some light scabbing. It is important to let this process happen naturally and follow your aftercare instructions carefully.

Days 10-30 parts of your brows may disappear as the white blood cells come to the area to repair the wound. You may lose some or all strokes and the colour may be patchy. This is why the complimentary perfection visit is so important. The colour will slowly fade as your skin heals to eventually show the true colour. Use the touchup appointment to go darker, bigger, bolder, touch up patches, make any adjustments necessary.

INTERSTATE CLIENTS

If I have my brows done in Canberra - can I also have the touch up in Canberra?

At present, Rach is travelling to Canberra on average 3 times per year. Dates vary and there is no guarantee as to when the next trip will be. The usage period for touch up appointments for interstate clients has been increased by one month to allow for interstate travel. This means, after the initial appointment you will have 16 weeks to have your touch up done before it expires. Should this period lapse, you will be required to book the next service class. It is recommended that you have your initial appointment in Canberra and then book yourself a little getaway weekend in the Gold Coast anywhere from 5-16 weeks following the first appointment. Our studio is based within minutes in the beautiful Burleigh Heads which you will absolutely not regret spending some time exploring.

I had my initial appointment in Canberra, booked my touch up appointment in Gold Coast, and now a trip for Canberra has been announced within 16 weeks from my first appointment. Can I change my touch up to Canberra please?

Absolutely! As long as you get in contact to let us know you want to change before all of the Canberra appointments are booked out, we would be more than happy to move it for you. Alternatively, you are able to click *change appointment* within your confirmation email and select a new time/date that suits.

I am about to book my touch up appointment in Burleigh but there isn't any available dates - what should I do?

Shoot us a message and we will see what we can do for you! ciao@dizainstudio.com.au
